Notification of marketing of food supplements.

According to Royal Decree 1487/2009, food supplements are food products whose purpose is to complement the normal diet and are made of concentrated sources of nutrients (vitamins and minerals) or other substances that have a nutritional or physiological effect, in a simple way or combined, marketed in dosage form, that is, capsules, pills, tablets, powder sachets, liquid ampoules, dropper bottles and other similar and other similar formulation to be taken in small unit quantities.

In order to market these products in Spain, they must be previously notified to the regional competent authority or to the Spanish Food Safety Agency (AESAN), depending on the origin of the food supplement.
